North Las Vegas Airport ChannelSigma Engineering Solutions, Inc. was contracted by the Clark County Department of Aviation to provide channel improvements at the North Las Vegas Airport, located in North Las Vegas, Nevada. There were two issues brought to our attention in regards to the North Las Vegas Airport. The first was that an existing v-ditch located between the aircraft parking apron and Taxiway B had on numerous occasions exceeded its capacity and flooded into the aircraft parking area. The second problem was with aircraft and vehicle safety. There have been multiple incidences involving aircrafts and vehicles rolling out of the designated travel lanes and into the open channels.

One thing that makes this project truly unique for Sigma is that there was a fixed limited budget and the Sigma team had to modify the scope to suit allocated funds. Sigma analyzed the issues and decided to use a pre-cast concrete storm drain and put it underground.
